Platinum wire Pl 99.93, 0.36 mm, GOST 18389-2014

Platinum wire 0.36 mm is made from grade Pl 99.93 with a nominal Pt content of not less than 99.93%; the actual analysis is confirmed by the batch certificate. GOST 18389-2014 does not turn the semi-finished product into a ready-made measuring element and does not specify the accuracy of the assembled device.

Quality control

Wire with a diameter over 0.3 mm up to and including 0.5 mm may be supplied on a spool or in a coil. For the range over 0.20 mm to 0.40 mm, the standard specifies a nominal mass of not less than 27 g, and a reduced mass of 10 g, unless otherwise agreed by the parties. Each carrier must contain a continuous length without splices or knots; the surface is inspected visually.

What to specify before ordering

In your request, specify condition M or T, accuracy N or P, mass or length, winding form, and surface requirements. Request a CoA with chemical composition and a diameter control report. Without condition and accuracy designations, it is impossible to select tolerances from the GOST table or promise a given ductility. For precise measurements, the resistance of the batch is determined separately and the assembly is calibrated.

Storage and handling

Unwind fine wire with controlled tension using clean tools, avoiding kinks, tangling, and surface damage. Store the spool or coil in dry protective packaging away from corrosive environments. Weighing and movement of material should be documented; short lengths and trimmings should not be discarded. Heat treatment and joining must be performed under conditions that prevent contamination of the platinum.
