Applications

Palladium on activated carbon 10% (Pd/C 10%) is used as a highly active and selective catalyst in:

• hydrogenation reactions (alkenes, alkynes, aromatic and nitro compounds);

• cross-coupling reactions Suzuki–Miyaura, Heck–Mizoroki, and Stille;

• debenzylation/deoxygenation processes and mild oxidation.
  The catalyst is applicable in fine organic and pharmaceutical synthesis, and can be used in microwave reactors and flow systems.

Safety and Storage

Store tightly closed, away from ignition sources. Avoid unnecessary drying: dry Pd/C may be pyrophoric. Work in a fume hood with appropriate PPE.
